Widely used in food products, such as baked goods, chocolate and candy, instant products, margarine, shortening, and flour-based products, as an additive. When added to food, phospholipids not only serve as emulsifiers, wetting agents, release agents, viscosity reducers, solubilizers, dispersants, and antioxidants, but also bind with starch and proteins to improve the texture and structure of food, while also acting as nutritional agents. This not only enhances food quality, improves taste, extends shelf life, but also increases nutritional content. In feed formulations, phospholipids serve as nutritional additives for livestock, poultry, and aquaculture. Adding phospholipids to feed promotes the development of animals' nervous tissue, internal organs, bone marrow, and brains, thereby increasing production in livestock, poultry, and freshwater fish while reducing methionine consumption. Adding phospholipids to feed can replenish energy consumption in animal bodies and enhance feed nutritional value. In layer chicken feed, phospholipids promote digestion and absorption, thereby increasing egg production in layer chickens. Many research institutions in China have conducted extensive studies on phospholipid feeding trials. Institutions such as the Beijing Nutrition Source Research Institute, the Shanghai Oil Research Institute, the Shanghai Fisheries Research Institute, and the Xiamen Fisheries College have studied the addition of rapeseed oil phospholipids to the feed of meat pigs and freshwater fish. The results indicate that adding phospholipids to meat pig feed increases weight gain by approximately 4% and reduces feed consumption by about 4%. Adding rapeseed oil phospholipids to fish feed pellets can increase production by approximately 10%. (These benefits primarily manifest in nutritional supplementation, metabolic promotion, increased egg production, improved milk secretion, enhanced fat absorption, and accelerated growth.)
